I was thinking about that too, but the businesses really would not know where I got their information from since I'd only be e-mailing those businesses that have live web sites, which can be researched out from anywhere. I'd be visiting their site first to get contact names and correct e-mails.
I wish I could do the snail-mail route, but I don't have the $ for postage, and some of us here in this county are really trying to get the Internet noticed - using snail mail, to me anyway, just intensifies the idea that the Internet don't exist in Berks. LOL
I'll keep you posted.. I'm still mulling the idea around, and I'm not getting very positive feedback on it so far. I may pitch the idea.
I've heard not only the snail mail approach, but door-to-door, face-to-face and cold calling after the direct mail. Not in this area. Remember, I'm dealing with a lot of Pennsylvania Dutch, very old-fashioned and I don't think they've realized that the 50s are over. :-)
