First of all, you might want to check out MT Daily's Legal Forum. They'd have a lot more input since that's your field. There is a link to their site on this board.
You might want to check out the link for starting your own WP business, too. If you just want to work on the side and maybe pick up a client or two, try going through the classifieds of your local legal newspaper, if there is one. Call attorneys, ask if they have a need for outsourcing transcription. If you don't want to cold call, write a letter of introduction and send it to attorneys and/or court reporters in your area. With your experience, I would think you'd be able to pick up something.
By the way, where are you located?
