: Why do you have 2 computers??
Bought a newer system last summer for handling the heavier processing needs working with largers databases.
Kept the older system up and running as it contains programs that won't run on newer system that I still occasionally need. Also, older system is the one the scanner is attached to and I haven't had the time/patience to try switching it (attached to a SCSI board that would have to be moved) to the newer system. Plus, this setup allows me to run multiple printers (due to networking). Newer system also has freebie fax software I utilize vs. paying a fortune for consumables for one of those newer plain paper stand-alone versions.
Bottom line is all equipment (printers, scanner, tape backup, CD-RW, etc.) is too much for one system to handle (insufficient IRQ addresses).
Now, as far as office layout - currently I'm using an "L" type configuration where I just swivel in my chair to go from one system to the other. However, once the girls resume school next fall I hope to totally revamp my office. Therefore I'm open to any suggestions. Office size is about 10' x 10', two windows, one door, and a closet. Hopefully I'll be repainting, and maybe even installing some sort of wall-unit/shelving type system to make things less of a nightmare.
