My daughter's maid of honor wants to give her a bridal shower for the bride's side of the family (already had one for groom's side). However, 98% of the guests list are located out-of-state (including the maid of honor).

I'm suggesting we do a cyber bridal shower. My idea goes something like this:

1) Send out invites which will include a mini-party kit (i.e. games in envelope "Do not open until shower starts", party favors, some party candy/food, a party balloon, perhaps a can of punch, etc.). Invites explain the party and give the date, time and URL location of the party room and password.

2) Guests send gifts to address provided for bride-to-be to open during the cyber shower.

3) Upon arrival of most of the guests to the cyber "party-room" we play a few shower games.

4) Bride opens gifts. (Theme of shower will be holidays - where guests are assigned a certain holiday to provide the new couple something to help them celebrate that holiday their first year of wedded bliss.) While bride opens gifts, someone (likely me) will be in charge of providing a typewritten commentary of what is happening (i.e. ohhhh - here's a tiny package from Aunt Susie. Aunt Susie's gift is for Halloween. Oh my - Aunt Susie you are naughty. An itty-bitty orange and black nightie.)

5) Pictures will be taken as bride-to-be opens gifts to be posted the next day at a web site.

Most of the "guests" are family (aunts, cousins, grandmas). Party duration will be up to two hours. Majority of the "guests" have access to the Internet or live near another "guest" who does. Do you think this is plausible?

Any suggestions on helping to pull this off?

Thanks for any input y'all.
