Symbols?

I haven't been posting, but I have been lurking. I need some help, I'm typing a Gaelic to English Dictionary and I'm running into some strange characters, such as double quotation marks over the M, and double quotation marks over the pointing hand symbol, also double quotation marks over the U. I'm using the Typewriter FontT, I have found most of the things I needed there. Any suggestions would helpful.
