Transcription Question

Hi everyone!

I have a transcription question to all those transcription experts. I received an inquiry to transcribe interviews which run anywhere from 3 to 4 hours each. I believe the industry standard is a 4 to 1 ratio - which means 16 hours of transcription for one interview. Am I correct in this assumption? This person has 20 of these interviews!

Has anyone every transcribed about 3-4 hours of an interview with no special terminology? Approximately how many pages was the document? What is the average hourly rate most of you charge for transcription? I do transcription for a couple of my clients but charge them their hourly rate which may be lower than what I should be charging.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks and have a great weekend!
